The permit for the Bear Mine has been revoked and the bond has been forfeited <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />- The mine's namesake, a young bear cub, was walking down the slope towards the (now dry) spring. It continued <br />down the slope as I decided to leave the site (I was not sure where mom was). Once I moved upwind it ran back <br />up the slope and disappeared. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05: Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />- The water treatment pond contained water several feet below the discharge pipe and was not discharging at the <br />time of the inspection. The pond embankment was well vegetated and stable and no erosional problems were <br />noted. <br />- The remaining sediment pond was dry at the time of the inspection. The spring has <br />flowed recently, as there was some water around the normal spring area and down to the bottom of the hill. The <br />area around the spring remained stable at the time of the inspection <br />REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15: Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />- The site remains stable, with no erosional problems noted on any portion of the site.
