JdRRe Wilkinson, representing the Uperator, was present during this inspection. rnutographs
are included with this report in order to illustrate some of the conditions observed.
The Gold Links Mine is located approximately 4.7 miles north of Ohio Lity and accessed from CK 771. The site
is a i lu(2) operation that includes a total of 6.2 permitted acres. l ne Division currently holds a financial warranty
amount ut s6, /2 /.40 for this site. The financial warranty was recently increased in order to include costs tor
closure of the portal approved througn 1 K2. l tie Division intends to review the reclamation costs for the
remainder of the site. In the past, costs for removal of the mine related structures navc been omitted from the cost
estimate because the landowner had opted to keep the buildings intact atter reclamation. The permit file includes
reference to a letter from the landowner stating that buildings are to remain, but the letter itself is not includca in
the file. In order to keep costs for removal Of the buildings out of the financial Warranty estimate the Uperator
will need to provide a letter from the current landowner stating which structures he desires to remain on site atter
reclamation.
Adequate mine identiticadon signage was noted at the entrance to the site.
l he attected area was marked by posts that were clearly visible and adequate to delineate the attectca area
boundary.
"1'he mine is not producing at this time. Recent activity at the site has consisted of maintenance and upgrades to
infrastructure.
I fie purtal is secured with a locking steel gate. 1 tie portal has been covered with a steel shed structure that extends
out to the access road. The escapeway is located above the portal. The cut above the portal appears stable.
The generator is contained in a shed near the portal entrance. A new steel building contains a second generator
and crusher. A shop building is located opposite the new generator/crustier building.
Uverall, the site is orderly.
Problems or violations were not noted during this inspection.
Responses to tnis inspection report should be directed to Dustin uzapla at the Division of Reclamation, Mining
and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3`o Street, xoom sol; Grand Junction, Colorado 8 oul, pnune
number (970) 243-6299.
