MLL W: M-1931-014 <br />INSPECTOWS 11-4111ALS: UMI: <br />INSPEC 11O1v UA 11✓: 8/ 19120 1.*) <br />USSEKVA'1'lUNS <br />This inspection was conducted as hart of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Satety's (Division) normal <br />monitoring program. John Keller, representing tyle Uperator, was present during this i«spection. Photographs <br />are included with this report in order to illustrate some of the coy►ditions observed. <br />The Rozman Fit is located approximately 2.5 miles soutneast of Crested Butte and accessed from Riverland <br />Dri,e. The site is a 112c operation that includes a total of 59 permitted acres. The Divisiun currently holds a <br />financial warranty amount of $1 19,492.UU for this site. The Division will review the rcclamatiun costs in order <br />to ensure the tinancial warranty reflects the actual current cust of fultining the requirements of the Reclamation <br />Flan. The Uperato. will be nutified under separate cover it the Division determines that the current financial <br />Warranty amount is insufficient. <br />l he sign observed at the entrance to the site does not include the permit number and is theretore considered <br />inadequate. This has been noted as a problem on the tirst page ut this report. <br />i he boundaries of the attected area were not clearly marked, particularly around the nignwall crest in the active <br />Pit area. This has been noted as a problem on the first page of this report. <br />The active pit is located in the west part ut the permit area. The highwall is advancing easterly into the hillside. <br />Reclamation has commenced on the west end of the highwall. The reclaimed nignwall slope has been reduced <br />to approximately 2H:1 V. The active highwall slupes range trom approximately 2H:1 V to 1H:1 V. Spring Water <br />fron, the slope is captured at the base and directed around the pit to the west. <br />Reclamation has commenced around the pond on the west side of the pit. dopes on the west and south sides <br />appeared adequately graded and vegetation is becoming well established. The north pond slope will require <br />some touch up finish grading. me operator should be reminded that slopes five feet above ur ten feet below the <br />water line snail be 3H:1 V or less. <br />Removal of the scale; on the nurth side of the pond, was occurring during the inspection. A temporary scale <br />and office were located on the west side of the pit area. <br />The area for the new batch plant near H W y 135 has been graded. tvu structures have been installed yet.
