Water monitoring was not conducted for the 2014 calender
year, which is in compliance with the currently approved permit application package (Page 4-85). The
Colorado Discharge Permit for the site has been inactive since September 30, 2004. Page 4-86 of the
approved permit application package requires the Annual Hydrology Report to include a discussion about
the discharge from the sediment pond and water consumption including irrigation of the reclaimed site.
In 2014, the sediment pond did not discharge and the cropland at the reclaimed site was not irrigated.
The 2014 Annual Hydrology Report is in compliance with the requirements of the Rules and approved
permit application. Based on the above information, the Division has no questions or further comments.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303) 866-3567 x8144.
Sincerely,
Clayton Wein
Environmental Protection Specialist
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http://mining.state.co.us
John W.
