PUBLIC NOTICE
<br />Twentymile Coal, LLC (TC), 29515 Routt County Road 27, Oak Creek, Colorado 80467, has
<br />submitted an application for a Permit Revision (PR) to the Foidel Creek Mine, Permit Number C-82-
<br />056. The revision (PR15-11) addresses a revision to the existing approved mining plans to include
<br />development and mining of owned and leased coal reserves in the Wolf Creek Coal Seam. These
<br />activities will specifically include ongoing development and mining of six longwall panels (or partial
<br />panels), development of an internal (underground) ventilation and utility shaft, and related ancillary
<br />activities, including underground dewatering activities and extension of mine ventilation and support
<br />systems. This Permit Revision includes an addition to the Mine Permit Area of approximately 160
<br />acres.
<br />The current mine permit area encompasses approximately 22,450 acres, located approximately 23 miles
<br />southwest of Steamboat Springs on Routt County Road 33, and approximately 7.3 miles northwest of
<br />Oak Creek on Routt County Road 27. Mine offices and major surface facilities are located adjacent to
<br />Foidel Creek, near the intersection of these two roads. The mine permit area is covered by the Cow
<br />Creek, Dunkley, Milner, Mount Harris, Oak Creek, and Rattlesnake Butte USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle
<br />maps. The lands affected by the proposed revision are located in Sections 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16,
<br />and 17, T5N, R86W; and surface owners for these areas include TC, the State of Colorado, Ashley
<br />Investments, LLC, and Camilletti & Sons. The affected area under this Permit Revision will extend to
<br />within 100 feet of portions of Routt County Road 33 in the SE/4 and S/2 NE/4 Section 14 and the
<br />NW/4 Section 13, T5N, R86W. The Mine Permit Area includes all or portions of Sections 7 through 9,
<br />T4N, R86W; T5N, R86W, except Sections 34 through 36; and Sections 13, 22 through 24, 25 through
<br />27, and 34 through 36, T5N, R87W. The ownership, precise location, and boundaries of lands within
<br />the Permit are identified on pages 2.03-13 through 2.03-18 and 2.03-22 and 2.03-23.1, and Maps 1 and
<br />2, of the Mine Permit Application Package (PAP), and are included in this public notice by reference.
<br />Copies of the PAP, including the referenced Permit Revision application, (less confidential material) are
<br />available for inspection at the mine office and the office of the Colorado Division of Reclamation,
<br />Mining, and Safety. Copies of the Permit Revision application are also available for public inspection at
