Skies were blue with high clouds, and temperatures were in the low 80's (F).
Unusually wet conditions prevalent in May and early June, resulted in well vegetated reclaimed areas. No soil was
moving off site. Revegetation sampling for Year 9 was conducted in 2015, with Year 10 sampling following in
2016.
PERMITTING UPDATE:
MR -08 Surface Ownership and Right of Entry: On April 9, 2015, Oakridge Energy, Inc. sold its
property on Ewing Mesa, including those areas within the Carbon Junction Mine permit
boundary. The new surface owners are Marc and Jane Katz. With MR -08, approved on June 16,
2015, Section 2.03.6 of the permit was revised, and a Right -of -Entry agreement was incorporated
into Appendix 3-2.
Outstanding Issues:
Permitting
Section 2.03.4 text needs to be revised to reflect the change in ownership, as does Map 3-1, Surface and Coal
Ownership. Please submit a second minor revision application, addressing these portions of the permit, at
your earliest convenience.
Inspection
Clumps of Scotch and Musk thistle are present. Please ensure that these noxious weeds are treated
to prevent their developing and spreading viable seeds.
SIGNS AND MARKERS Rule 4.02
• Topsoil stockpiles observed were marked with identifying signs.
• Mine identification signs at gate were installed as required, with the exception of:
Sign on the gate identifying the Division office needs some maintenance to be legible. Also, on
this sign the Durango Office is noted. The Durango office is no longer in operation. This as per
PERMANENT CESSATION OF OPERATIONS Rule 4.03.2
