The Discharge Monitoring Reports for
the above CDPS permit was received by the Division on July 27, 2015 via e-mail.
2Q; CO-0036684
: No exceedances were reported.
2Q; COG-850051
: No discharge reported.
2Q; COG-850054
: No discharge reported.
2Q and June 2015; CO-0027154
: No exceedances were reported.
2Q; CO-0042161
: One exceedance was reported for the annual reporting of fecal coliforms. According to
the report, this was likely the result a clogged gate valve that was repaired during the first quarter of 2014.
The issue of fecal coliform counts was brought Twentymile Coal, LLC (TC) attention by CDPHE after
the second quarter of last year. Following this, TC indicated they increased its level and frequency of
chlorination. The cover letter indicates subsequent counts have been zero. TC indicated that this effluent
is discharged into a leach field on the Twentymile property and not into any local creeks or waterways.
Also, TC indicated that there are no existing potable water wells within the discharge area that would be
impacted by the effluent. According to the DMR form for Outfall 002A for the 2Q of 2015, the
concentration of Fecal Coliform was 0.
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http://mining.state.co.us

John W.
