• Transfer of Bonding Requirements From Exploration Bonds to the Mining Bond
Please refer to Map 1-2 in Appendix I (Volume 2) of the 1986 permit renewal document
for location of the following monitoring wells which are outside of the present permit.
D.H. 96
D.H. 97
D.H. 116
D.H. 122
D.H. 133
D.H. 137
D.H. 163
W.21
Since two of these wells are used for quarterly laboratory and field testing, and since the
others are used for updating the annual piezometric surface of the overburden aquifer,
Coors requests that these wells be included in the present mine permit bond and removed
from coverage in the outstanding exploration bonds from which Coors is seeking release.
These wells are available and serviceable for monitoring for life -of -mine which is 11/8/01
or approximately 13 more years. The bond contains 327,483.00 for contingencies which
• should be more than enough to cover reclamation of these sites which is estimated at
$500.00 per site or a total bonding required of $4,000.00.
•
This reclamation would be done in the normal fashion with removal of the PVC casing,
filling of the hole with surrounding soil material and a concrete plug 3' below the surface,
grading and fertilizing of the disturbed area and broadcast seeding with the approved seed
mixture. These sites have already re -seeded themselves and future disturbance to pull the
casing should only disturb about a 100' x 100' area in the vicinity or 0.23 acres for each
site.
123a
