Hays
Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
V
Re: Permit No. M-1999-098 — Riverview Resource
, Corrective Action Extension Request Regarding Cell 3 Breach Repair
Dear Peter:
AL
AGGREGATE
INDUSTRIES
Aggregate Industries (AI) submits this letter in response to the Division's inspection report of the
Riverview Resource operation on June 26, 2015. The Division cited as a problem that Al failed
to repair a damaged section of the northern bank of the southeast section of Cell 3 resulting in
increased flood flows into a neighboring property. The corrective action required by the
Division is to repair the breach, re -survey the section to verify topography and submit the survey
results to the Division by August 3, 2015.
AI's contractor for conducting the work was not available until this week. He has been working
on re-establishing access to the breach section the past three days and is in the process of
repairing the breach today. He expects to have that work completed by today. Al expects to be
able to notify the Division of the repair completion on (August 3 but is requesting an extension of
the corrective action due date to August 17 to allow time to complete the required survey and
submit the results.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Very truly yours,
Connie N.
