It is in exhibit 19. The
demonstration appears to show that Total Settleable Solids will be below the discharge limit of 0.5 mL/L without
any additional sediment control. The silt fence in place represents a "best management practice". I see nothing
in the permit or the rules that specify a silt fence must be used.
Rule 4.05.5 describes performance standards for sediment control measures, in particular 4.05.5(2)(0 lists "straw
dikes, riprap, check dams, mulches, vegetative sediment filters, dugout ponds, and other measures that reduce
overland flow velocity, reduce runoff volume, or trap sediment" as structures that could be used a sediment
control method.
Before you proceed to replace the silt fence with a more durable alternative I suggest that you consult the newly
issued discharge permit from the Water Quality Control Division to check its requirements (since the SAE now
has a designated outfall).
eigh Simmons
Depw,tmerrt of Natural Resources
es}
3 attachments
INSP-REPORTC_C1981012_LDS_08032015040100.pdf
1263K
n INSP-REPORTC_C1981013_LDS_08032015020232.pdf
248K
INSP-REPORTC_C1996084_LDS_08042015125616.pdf
8955K
https://m ail.googl e.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&i k=e29129fcb5&view= pt&search= i nbox&th=14efa3de6bdc92ae&si m l=14efa3de6bdc92ae 1/1
