New Horizon Mine
III. Summary of Reclamation and Management
As shown on Map 1, each area requested for bond release is comprised of separate units, which
correspond to the specific year that backfilling and grading was performed. The reclamation
work completed for this Phase I application includes regrading to the approved post -mining
topography, topsoil replacement, and seeding with the approved seed mixture.
The reclaimed areas have been regraded consistent with the approved post -mining topography
(please see Map 2.05.4-1-3), and follows all criteria set forth for Phase I bond release by the
Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety. Please refer to Map 2 for representative
cross-sections of the regraded areas in relation to the approved post -mining topography.
There is not any applicable drainage control constructed within this Phase I application. The
post -mine land use is prime farmland and sediment control has been established through the use
of wattles as currently approved and shown on Map 2.05.3(3)-1-2.
As presented on Map 3, the reclaimed land has been furnished with an irrigation system, which
consists of following general items:
• A 1328 foot radius center pivot;
• A 615 foot radius center pivot;
• Buried power lines to the pivots;
• Buried water polypipe lines to center pivots;
• Four irrigation side rolls;
• Buried water polypipe lines with risers for side roll water supply
SL -16 Phase II Bond Release Application Page 4
