<br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION
<br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
<br />proposes to approve Permit Renewal Application No: 9
<br />(RN -6), submitted by New Elk Coal Company, LLC for a
<br />coal mining permit at the Golden Eagle Mine (Permittft
<br />C-1981-013). The proposed renewal will allow for
<br />continued mining and/or reclamation operations at the
<br />site.
<br />The Golden Eagle Mine is a/an underground operation
<br />located in Las Animas County, approximately 20 miles
<br />West of Trinidad, Colorado. Coal interest is private, and*
<br />the surface to be affected is private land. The permit area*
<br />encompasses approximately 1.20 acres. s
<br />This proposed decision is based on a finding that the,*.;
<br />proposed operation will comply with all requirements oto'
