Twentymile Coal, LLC.
Page 11
July 21, 2015
Also; Map WC 23 Wolf Creek PR 14-10 Mine Plan Modification, depicts the subsidence
monitoring area for County Road 33. It appears the monitoring area for County Road 33
does not cover the entire length of the road within the projected subsidence effects
boundary as depicted on the map. Please revise this map to extend the subsidence
monitoring boundary the entire length of the road projected to be within the subsidence
effects boundary.
Other
31. The Division received three comment letters. The Colorado Division of Water Resources
submitted a letter dated March 2, 2015. History Colorado submitted a letter dated February 10,
2015. The Office of Surface Mining submitted a letter dated March 17, 2015. These letters are
enclosed for your review.
a. No response necessary.
The following discusses TC's response to the Division's second adequacy letter datedMay S, 2015.
Revised Map 23 submitted on March 23, 2015 does not depict the affected area boundary. Rule
2.05.6(6)(e)(i)(E)(III)&(IV) requires that a map be submitted that depicts the areal extent of an
area determined by the angle -of -draw and of predicted subsidence related phenomena within the
permit and adjacent area. Please revise Map 23 to depict the affected area boundary.
a. TC's response: Please refer to previous response to Comment 11.
b. Division's response: Item resolved.
2. Revised Map 23 does not depict the sequence and timing of the mine plan. The currently
submitted revised Map 23 for PR10, color codes the specific mine areas based on the year the
areas will be mined and the estimated date of mining is included. Please revise Map 23 to depict
the sequence of mining.
a. TC's response: Revisions and updates to the accompanying Map 23WC include
designations and labeling showing the sequence of mining by year and the currently
anticipated mining progression by month. Given that mining advance and production
rates may be affected by both the mining conditions encountered and market demand, the
rate of mining advance may vary from current projections.
b. Division's response: Item resolved.
3. Please revise Map 23 to depict the mine pool.
a. TC's response: Revisions and updates to the accompanying Map 23WC include
delineation of the location and extent of mine water accumulations in two areas (North
and South Mine Water Pools) in the overlying Wadge Seam.
b. Division's response: Item resolved.
