Please find attached the 2012 AHR where George P first
discusses the obstruction in detail in the text narrative. The report of the obstruction initiated the
DMRS investigation which included the first attempt at using the borehole camera.
I know of no prior indication or concern about the condition of MWNW expressed by either EFCI or
the DRMS until 2012. All evidence and data reported is believed accurate to the mine floor until
2012. Had the obstruction occurred at sometime prior to 2012, it is reasonable to assume that GP
would have encountered issues at the obstruction. THe exact timing of the casing damage cannot
be determined but all information suggestes it occurred in late 2011 or early 2012. 1 count around 18-
20 water level measurements (dry) to the mine floor prior to the obstruction being positively
identified. Unless the DRMS has information that EFCI is not aware of, we believe the data as
reported for MWNW is accurate and an official part of the mine hydrologic record.
As I mentioned, EFCI is exploring the possiblility of any additional data that may exist or be
available with regard to water, or the lack of water, in the mine workings. If these data are
determined to be useful, EFCI will submit it as soon as possible.
Kent Gorham
Gorham Energy Consultants, LLC
13356 Wild Basin Way
Broomfield CO 80020
(303) 870-3787 (c)
(303) 465-1274 (h)
This message contains confidential information and is intended only for the individual(s) named.
