The <br />application was submitted by New Elk Coal Company, LLC on December 19, 2013, for the <br />Golden Eagle Mine. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request <br />a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication <br />of this notice by the Division in the The Chronicle - News. <br />The underground mine is located approximately 20 miles West of Trinidad, Colorado. The permit <br />area is further described as follows: <br />In all or portions of Sections 15-22, and Sections 27-34 of T33S, R67W; and Sections 3 and 4 of <br />T34S, R67W. <br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the <br />above address and Las Animas County Clerk and Recorder, 200 East First Street, Room 205, <br />Trinidad, CO 81082.
