Public Services — Watershed Protection District <br />Maximum extent feasible means that no <br />feasible and prudent alternative exists and all <br />possible efforts to comply with a regulation, <br />or minimize potential harm or adverse <br />impacts, have been undertaken. <br />Person means any individual, partnership, <br />corporation, trust, association, company or <br />other public, governmental or corporate <br />entity, or instrumentality thereof. <br />Pollute or pollution means the contamina- <br />tion or befouling of the natural biological, <br />chemical, physical or radiological composi- <br />tion or integrity of water or soil through <br />human or human -induced conduct or activi- <br />ties. <br />Sewage means a combination of liquid <br />wastes that may include chemicals, house <br />wastes, human or animal excreta, or animal or <br />vegetable matter in suspension or solution, <br />and/or other solids in suspension or solution, <br />and that is discharged from, without limita- <br />tion, a building, vehicle, tank or other struc- <br />ture or facility. <br />Sewage disposal system means a septic <br />tank, leach field or other facility regardless of <br />size or flow designed and constructed for the <br />purpose of receiving, treating or disposing of <br />sewage. <br />Sewage treatment works means any sys- <br />tem or facility for treating, neutralizing, sta- <br />bilizing or disposing of sewage and which has <br />a designed or operational capacity to receive <br />more than two thousand (2,000) gallons of <br />sewage per day. <br />Significant degradation means to lessen in <br />grade, quality or desirability so as to create or <br />cause unsafe or harmful impacts. <br />Stream (primary) means a visible water- <br />way expected to run flowing water for more <br />than one (1) month per year. <br />13-21 <br />13.50.040 <br />Stream (secondary intermittent) means a <br />visible waterway, normally dry and not <br />expected to run flowing water for more than <br />one (1) month per year. <br />Substantial means material and/or consid- <br />erable in importance, value, degree, amount <br />or extent. <br />Surfacing means the compaction, harden- <br />ing or covering of the natural land surface <br />with asphalt, concrete, gravel or similar mate- <br />rials in an area greater than three hundred <br />(300) square feet. <br />Watershed means the area encompassed <br />by the Georgetown Watershed Protection <br />District. <br />Watershed permit or permit means the <br />written approval issued by the Town under <br />this Chapter for a land use activity or devel- <br />opment within the Georgetown Watershed <br />Protection District. <br />Waterwork means any and all man-made <br />or designed component of a domestic water <br />collection and treatment system, including, <br />but not limited to, transmission, storage and <br />filtration facilities, and all reservoirs, streams, <br />intermittent streams, trenches, gullies, pipes <br />and drains used in and necessary for the col- <br />lection and transport of water and the mainte- <br />nance and operation of the Town's water <br />supply system. <br />Wetland means land that has a predomi- <br />nance of hydric soils and that is inundated or <br />saturated by surface or groundwater at a fre- <br />quency and duration sufficient to support, and <br />that under normal conditions does support, a <br />prevalence of hydroponic vegetation typically <br />adapted for life in saturated soil conditions. <br />(Ord. 517 §1, 2000) <br />
