across the road.' There are now more properties for sale in Beaver Ridge than there have been
in years, some with asking prices thousands of dollars below what the owners paid five years
ago. This is not a good sign for our community or Park County, in general.
As you know, the existing gravel pit met with numerous violations after my letter of last year
prompted an inspection (and it had not been inspected in some time). We shutter to think what
would happen if another mining operation moves in on top of it. As has been proven, the owners
of these mining operations have not shown to be good stewards of the land. How much time and
money will the State and County have to invest in having these mining operations inspected on
a regular basis and made to adhere to operating within proper environmental and safety
guidelines? We believe that when these mining operations were granted their permits years ago,
the State and County did not take into consideration the growing of residential communities in
Park County and the impact that would be had on this area. We hope that you will prevent any
further mining operation from double -blasting us out of any hope of living some sort of quality
existence in Park County.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Echrhidt h
,3ohn,S6midt
`-89 Abandonedrail Road
Beaver Ridge
Mailing: P.O.
