Gary Harding of Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL) accompanined the <br />inspection. The weather was cloudy and the mine site was wet due to recent precepitation events. No coal trains <br />were observed during the inspection. This partial inspection focused on the permitted sedimentation ponds B, C, <br />D, F, J, and K. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Ponds B, C, D, F, and J were observed during the inspection. <br />Pond B has one embankment with a designed top of embankment 10' width and 2:1 pond side slope and 3:1 <br />outslope. The design capacity is 4.72 acre feet and the required capacity is 3.46 acre feet. The primary discharge <br />is a 6" valved dewatering pipe. No discharge was occurring at the time of the inspection. A sediment delta was <br />observed at the discharge of Ditch D-1334. The pond was functioning as designed and no issues were noted with <br />the exception of- <br />-Sporadic thistle growth on the east end of the pond embankment. <br />Pond C has one designed embankment with a designed top of embankment 10' width and 2.15:1 pond side slope <br />and 3:1 outslope. The design capacity is 3.93 acre feet and the required capacity is 3.82 acre feet. The primary <br />discharge is a 6" valved dewatering pipe. The pond was holding water with no discharge occurring at the time of <br />the inspection. Pond C has recently been cleaned of sediment. The pond was functioning as designed and no <br />issues were noted with the exception of- <br />-Sporadic thistle and knapweed growth was observed on the east end of the pond and throughout the emergency <br />spillway. <br />Pond J has one embankment with a designed top of embankment 10' width and 2.7:1 pond side slope and 4.2:1 <br />outslope. The design capacity is 4.60 acre feet and the required capacity is 2.54 acre feet. The primary discharge <br />is pumped and the secondary is a 6" valved dewatering pipe.
