(EFCI) — Southfield Mine - Permit No. C-81-014
Dear Rob Zuber and Leah Simmons:
Attached is an outline of the Risk Evaluation and the projected excessive costs associated with
either drilling out the partial obstruction in Monitor Well MW -NW or drilling another monitor well in a
nearby location. The concern, which is also stated in an email to the Division (5-22-15) from the adjacent
landowner Dr. Corley of The Corley Company, is the risk of a potential explosion and/or an underground
mine fire when encountering methane while drilling into the Southfield mine workings. Copies of the
proposed drilling procedure and the excessive estimated costs required to address the safety concerns of a
potential fire is also attached.
Please review at you earliest opportunity.
If you have questions or require further information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
George V Patterson
Energy Fuels Coal, Inc.
