Mining Plan
1. General Plan
Exhibit C
Boulders will be removed from the project area utilizing an excavator and trucks. If stockpiling
occurs the boulders may be moved by front-end loader. The active area will be limited to 2 acres at
any one time. Boulder removal has been completed in the 1 acre area near the house and outbuildings.
Future boulder removal will start on the western side of the project area and progress east. No more
than 5,000 tons of boulders will be stockpiled on the site at any one time. This stockpile will be
located in the center of the extraction area and will advance along with the activity. Boulders are
exposed at the surface and may be partially buried. Once boulders in an area have been removed, the
area will be smoothed to allow for easy travel of a mechanical brushing machine. No topsoil will be
stripped and no material other than boulders will be removed from the site. No blasting will take
place at this site.
2. Water Information, Rights and Augmentation
No water rights or augmentation will be necessary since no consumptive use will occur during this
project. The extremely low production does not warrant watering of material or roads.
3. Drainage Facilities and Hydrologic Impacts
Ground water is not expected to be contacted during this project. If ground water is exposed, the
operator will backfill the exposed ground water hole and maintain all further activities at two feet
above the elevation at which ground water was exposed.
Because no topsoil stripping will occur, vegetation will act as a buffer for disturbed areas. In addition
a 40' buffer will be maintained between the drainage bottom and project area.
4. Topsoil Management
No topsoil will be stripped for this operation. All topsoil will be left intact.
5. Facilities
Cottonwood Creek Fire Risk Mitigation Project June 2015 C-1
