EXHIBIT D - Mining Plan
a) The current 9.9 acre site is not completely mined. Mining will continue there and
expand as needed to obtain new material. The operation will provide material for
construction projects and road building in the area. It may also provide some material
for landscaping. Anticipated life of the expanded pit is estimated to be up to fifteen
years, but in reality depends on demand for material.
b) The mining plan in place is removal of the material beginning at the south side of the
pit area and proceed northward in the existing 9.9 acre pit. Excavation will continue
as the need for material continues and, as the supply remains available. There is
topsoil in the area that averages about 6" in depth. The pit will have the topsoil
stripped and stockpiled for re-application during reclamation. Any topsoil stockpile
will be seeded with grass to prevent soil erosion.
c) There would appear to be no waste rock or material at the site.
a) Mining is anticipated to a depth of 20 to 25 feet. The mining plan is to continue in
Tract 2. When that is complete, our intent is to work approximate 6+ acre tracts
during each of the seven mining phases, starting in the northeast and moving counter
clockwise over approximately 15 years. The boundary line and comers of the open
areas will be clearly staked with steel posts. No slopes will be left greater than 3:1.
d) The pit will be accessed from County Road 44 and an existing trail road within the
property. The existing trail road will be left in place at the end of the operation for
use by the landowner. There will be no shop, plant, or other facilities located at the
mine site. The equipment that may be used to mine the gravel will be a scraper,
front-end loader, dozer, and trucks. Some stockpiling of material may be done at the
site, but most of the material will be utilized as it is mined. Any stockpiling that does
occur will be placed in line with the potential flow of runoff during heavy rainfall.
The anticipated stockpile area is shown on the mining plan. No processing of
material is anticipated, but if the need arises, limited processing could occur at the
site.
e) There is an old pit (Carper Borrow Pit M-2004-014) opened for a CDOT highway
project. It has been reclaimed and was closed in November of 2012. The mining
plan includes re -opening the west 100' of the old Carper Borrow Pit as part of Tract
5. The existing 9.9 acre site is disturbed and in the process of being mined out.
f) The existing trail to the pit is approximately 200' in length and 10 feet wide. The trail
will be used for the life of the pit and then left for the landowner to use in his farming
operation.
