COLORADO
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
June 29, 2015
Ann Lukacs
P.O. Box 366
Fairplay, CO 80440
RE: Gloria Z Mine; DRMS File No. M-1984-094; Request for Information
Dear Ms. Lukacs,
The Division is in receipt of your letter dated June 15, 2015 in which you inquire about a
potential transfer of the above referenced permit. At this time the Division is unaware of a
pending transfer of the permit. However, if the property were to be sold, the Permittee would
retain the permit and could continue to operate at the site provided they obtain a legal right of
entry from the new property owner. Alternately, the existing Permittee could transfer the permit
to the new landowner or any other interested entity willing to assume the reclamation liability for
the operation. Transferring of Reclamation Permits is done through the Succession of Operators
process and it is a fairly routing process to transfer a permit; reclamation of the site is not
required to transfer the permit. Reclamation Permits are valid for the life of the mine and do not
expire as long as the Permittee remains in compliance, including submitting the required Annual
Reports and Fees.
If you have any additional questions, you may contact me at (303)866-3567 x8116.
say,
Michael A.
