A7COLORADO
Division of Water Resources
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 821
Denver, CO 80203
March 6, 2015
DEREK FOSTER
DEERE Et AULT CONSULTANTS, INC.
600 S. AIRPORT ROAD, BUILDING A, SUITE 205
LONGMONT, CO 80503
TRANSMISSION VIA EMAIL: Derek. Foster@deereault.com
RE: SLURRY WALL LINER APPROVAL (AMENDMENT)
EVERIST STAR RESERVOIR(WDID 0303325)
FEIT PIT, DRMS M-1977-522 (WDID 0303000)
SECTION 26, T6N, R66W
WATER DIVISION 1, WATER DISTRICT 3
Dear Mr. Foster:
The purpose of this amended letter is to correct the WDIDs for the Everist Star Reservoir and the Feit Pit
(DBMS M-1977-522). The liner approval for the Everist Star Reservoir dated December 16, 2014 wilt not
change. The Everist Star Reservoir is primarily located in the SE1 /4 of the SW1 /4 and the SW1 /4 of the SE1 /4
of Section 26, Township 6 North, Range 66 West of the 6`h P.M. Everist Star Reservoir is part of the Feit gravel
pit (DRMS M-1977-522). This slurry wall liner leak test commenced August 6, 2014 and concluded on
November 10, 2014. Site inspection was performed by our office on September 25, 2014 to review site
conditions and the teak test plan.
Your revised report dated December 15, 2014 provides the liner summary and leak test result. The test data
provided indicates that the „reservoir has been lined to the design standard referenced in the August 1999
State Engineer Guidelines for Lining Criteria for Gravel Pits (1999 SEO Guidelines). Meeting the design
standard requires that during reservoir operations all water inflows and outflows for the liner perimeter
enclosed area be accounted for on a monthly basis.
With this liner approval, the Everist Star Reservoir is now classified as a lined reservoir in accordance with
the 1999 SEO Guidelines. Water shalt not be impounded in the reservoir except pursuant to lawful diversions
allowed by statute or decree. At all other times, at[ inflow of water into the reservoir from any source,
including precipitation and ground water inflows shalt be removed to prevent illegal storage of water. Prior
to ANY use of this site, the owner or operator will need to coordinate with Mark Simpson, District 3 Water
Commissioner, to review operations, measurement structures, stage -storage curves, and accounting.
Please contact me at the number below if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
a&-010
loana Comaniciu, P.E.
Water Resource Engineer
ec: Mark Simpson, District 3 Water Commissioner (Mark.
