Mr. Dustin Czapla
should be implemented. The program includes monitoring piezometers within the
underground workings and down -gradient surface water locations across the property
(Figure 2). At minimum, performance monitoring will include field measurements (pH,
electrical conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, and oxidation reduction potential)
and uranium, phosphate, and bromide laboratory analyses, at the monitoring points and
frequency provided in Table 1. Water levels in the existing and proposed piezometers
will also be monitored monthly.
Piezometer Plugging and Abandonment
The existing and proposed piezometers will be used as part of the long-term monitoring
program associated with the pilot test and full-scale implementation. When warranted,
the piezometers will be plugged in accordance with Rule 16 of the Water Well
Construction Rules.
' Summary
This request for a TR to reclamation permit M-77-004HR to perform pilot -scale uranium
' mass load reduction at the Pitch Reclamation Project describes the general plans for
injections. The proposed activities include piezometer development and pilot -scale
injections of a mixture of phosphate and conservative tracers at pH > 4 into the
' underground mine workings. Findings associated with the pilot -testing will be used to
determine if full-scale implementation should be considered for the 2016 field season.
1
L
1
If you have any questions or require further information regarding this submittal, please
contact me at (801) 990-3746.
Sincerely, Die Davis 9q behalf of Bill Ferdinand
0 "-U Z . -4
Bill Ferdinand
Homestake Mining Company of California
Director of Environment
Pitch Reclamation Project
CC: R.
