June 23, 2015 C-1992-080/Carbon Junction Mine MLT <br />establishment of desirable species: Mountain brome, various varieties of Wheatgrass, Utah <br />sweetvetch, Lewis flax, and Sainfoin. Grasses were tall and thriving due to the springtime <br />rains that moved through the Four Corners region. <br />The Carbon Junction channel, upstream of the riprapped permanent diversion, was regraded <br />in Fall 2013. Seeded species are sprouting on the channel's southern slope, beneath a <br />protective canopy of Yellow sweetclover. <br />• Populations of Scotch thistle and Musk thistle are growing rapidly in the vicinity of the 2013 <br />regrading project, and it does not appear that any spraying has been conducted this year. <br />Please ensure that these noxious weeds are treated immediately, in accordance with the <br />permit, in order to prevent their developing and spreading viable seeds. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE Rule 4.18: <br />• There were numerous sets of elk tracks and deer tracks throughout the permit area. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />The permit records are maintained at the offices of Goff Engineering & Surveying, in Durango, <br />and were inspected on June 24, 2015.
