EXHIBIT A
East Rigden Pit Legal Description
The East Rigden Sand and Gravel Pit is located in parts of Sections 21, 27 and 28,
Township 7 North, Range 68 West, 6th P.M., Larimer County, Colorado. The original
permit application was filed by Flatiron Material Company of Boulder, Colorado in 1979.
In February and November 2014, the City of Fort Collins acquired two parcels within the
original permit boundary for the construction of a clay lined augmentation reservoir and
a future regional park. As part of the purchase agreement with the land owner,
Cottonwood Land and Farms, the mining permit was transferred -to the City for
construction of the reservoir. A copy of the succession of operators approval has been
attached to this amendment as Appendix A.1. The City of Fort Collins is requesting an
amendment to the mining permit to modify the current reclamation plan to include
wildlife habitat and a developed water resource.
A-1
