All items have been addressed and modified as
applicable per the comments.
General Response
I am offended by the attitude expressed in your letter. I feel that you and I have always worked well
together and have previously both tried to do the right thing. In this case it appears that DRMS has
started with a false premise which has led you to the need to go to extremes in dialogue that rely on slurs,
read meanings into words and phrases that were not originally intended, and approach the ridiculous. The
fact is no potentially acid -generating materials have been identified at this site and it is not an easy task
for any engineer to design for something that does not exist. While it might appear frustrating on your
side, I have been the one who has had to develop words tot met your demands, while at the same time
remaining truthful. If some environmental hazard is ever found at the site, I want to be the first one to
want to identify it and make sure it is properly addressed. But, I find having to address these imaginary
issues quite difficult.
Moving directly to your comment 7, I have no idea what you are talking about when you refer to a
"blatantly observed scale" and a 0.4 millimeter high font. Following review of your email, I carefully
checked my copy of the map which you refer to, and of which the two copies that were sent to you were
identical to all of the other maps that we printed and sent out. These maps were produced on a standard D
sized sheet. When I checked the bar scale on mine and I found it to measure exactly one inch to 60 feet as
it should. My review of the lettering found it to be at a standard 10 point and quite readable. Based on
my understanding of the regulations and normal map standards, our map meets all requirements. I have
no idea how you could get those measurements from my map, and it you would have had some question, I
would have appreciated that you might have called and asked instead of making such accusations. It
makes me think that you are an adversary of the mining public of Colorado, a thought which I find
disturbing. My specific responses to your comments are as follows and I hope you find them to be more
professional that what I received from your side.
Comment 1 Improper Citation — No Response Necessary
Response: Correction has been made to plan — Thanks for helping us get it correct.
