The following provides a description of the permit boundary of the New Horizon 1 Mine. This
boundary is what remains after the successful Phase III bond release in 2001/2002. This tract
is also, know as the Rice Tract or the Garvey Tract.
The New Horizon 1 Permit Area lays within Section 25 Township 47N, Range 16W of the New
Mexico Principal Meridian, Montrose County, Colorado, or described specifically as follows:
Commencing at the southeast corner of said Section 36, Township 47N, Range 16W,
thence N 2400'19" W, 5925.11' to a point of beginning ;
thence N 87d20'48" W a distance of 2653.91';
thence N 01 d33'47" E a distance of 1574.33';
thence S 89d02'59" E a distance of 2670.39';
thence S 02d08'43" W a distance of 1653.48';
which is the point of beginning,
having an area of
4,295,900 square feet,
