Loloff Construction, Inc. — Loloff Pit — File No. M-1985-112, Responses to Letter Dated April 23,
2015 regarding Groundwater Monitoring Data
5/22115
Irz
3. Based on the Division review of the Derr Pit monitoring well data (TB -1, TB -7,
and TB -8) and the adjacent landowner well data submitted by the Operator, the
Division believes the dewatering of the Loloff Mine has caused a greater than
2 -foot change from historical groundwater levels.
Response:
We agree that the trigger levels have occurred at the Derr Pit but there are not any
other wells being affected on the east side of the Loloff Pit. Please see our response
to comment 2 for the Loloff Construction plan for addressing and providing solutions
to the issues with any of the wells.
Loloff Construction has implemented a recharge ditch system on the west side of the pit. The
recharge ditch was cleaned earlier this year and it currently backs water up from the existing
pump discharge to the north. The water level is backed up so it may flow into the Monroe pond
and recharge in that location. The ditch backs up further to the north to roughly '/z of the length
of the west property line.
Loloff Construction would like to continue the current plan that is being implemented at this time,
while continuing to monitor the existing wells and working with the well owners with any issues
they may have.
Sincerely,
J.C.
