Musick <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman St., Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />RECEIVED <br />JUN o 12015 <br />Division of <br />Mining & S e y tion, <br />Re: Bowie No. 2 Mine (Permit No. C-1996-083), Technical Revision No. 100 (TR -100) Mine Plan Sequence <br />(HC #67452) <br />Dear Mr. Musick: <br />Thank you for your recent correspondence dated May 18, 2015 (received by our office on May 22, 2015) <br />regarding the subject undertaking. <br />As the above referenced technical revision does propose additional surface disturbance but rather intends to <br />revise the current mine plan and sequence of underground mining operations, it is our opinion that a finding of <br />no historic properties affected is appropriate for the proposed undertaking pursuant to 36 CFR 800.4(d)(1). <br />The consultation process does involve other consulting parties such as local governments and Tribes, which as <br />stipulated in 36 CFR 800.3 are required to be notified of the undertaking. Additional information provided by <br />the local government, Tribes or other consulting parties may cause our office to re-evaluate our comments and <br />recommendations. <br />If previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered in the course of the project, work must be <br />interrupted until the resources are properly evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic Places <br />eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation with our office. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
