The decision date for TR -05 is May 28, 2015. The
Division has reviewed TR -05 and has the following comments and questions:
1) The Division believes it would be beneficial to have a schematic illustration detailing the cement
kiln process. Please provide a schematic illustration, which shows how the limestone feed enters
the kiln and how the limestone is processed throughout the facility. Please provide enough detail
to demonstrate how the kiln baghouse dust is collected.
2) Please describe what fuel(s) have been used to heat the kiln?
3) Is the fuel source coming in direct contact with the raw feed and/or the kiln baghouse dust?
4) If TR -05 is approved, will the kiln baghouse dust be mixed with the overburden and crusher fines
then backfilled, or will the kiln baghouse dust be placed in lifts within the quarry prior to
backfilling? Please detail how the kiln baghouse dust would be placed back into the quarry.
5) Please explain how the kiln baghouse dust is currently being disposed of?
of Coto
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http://mining.state.co.us I
John W.
