If time
allows pulling and bagging or burning the weeds would be useful to dispose of the seed. The
biennial rosettes and perennials should be sprayed this September with the following
herbicide mix and applied with a hand sprayer or backpack sprayer if a powered pump sprayer
is not available:
4 Gallons of water
1 ounce of Milestone
1 /8 ounce of Telar
4 ounces of MCPA
1 ounce of non-ionic surfactant
This herbicide mix should be applied in September 2010 and May 2011 when
adequate leaf area is present on the weeds. The gravel pit area needs to monitored on a
regular basis ant the chemical applied as necessary.
Gregory A.
