The Duell Gravel Pit W1989-004 is operated by Kit Carson County Road and Bridge
District III, whose address and phone number are PO Box 160, 25116 th Street, Suite 101,
Burlington, CO 80807. 719-346-8139
2. Kit Carson County has legal right to enter gravel pit. (Exhibit A)
3. There are 3 power poles within 200' of permitted area. (See map) Exhibit B is an
agreement with KC Electric.
4. Kit Carson County has placed corrective boundary markers (orange T -post) as requested.
Southeast marker is 470' from County Road V along haul road. The permitted area is
640' x 620' = 9.1 acres. A Google earth map is provided. (Exhibit C)
5. Kit Carson County has presently mined approximately 2 acres south of the stream
channel next to the south boundary. This gravel is stock piled to the east of the mined
area and KCC Dist III Road and Bridge haul's gravel out of the stock pile as needed to
maintain county roads.
6. Since this 2 acre area has depleted in production of gravel, KCC Dist III future plan is to
only extract gravel from Sand Creek and stock pile as needed. (See map) The Sand
Creek will replenish itself when flooding occurs. KCC will begin reclamation on the 2
acres that have been mined.
