Mr. Lewicki
Page 9
May 21, 2015
51. Please specify how far the right of way for Highway 9 extends onto the north side of the
mine site and delineate the right of way on the Mining Plan Map.
52. In anticipation of resorting to the engineering analysis to demonstrate that the permanent
man-made structures will not be adversely impacted by the operation, please identify the
worst case scenario for critical areas of slope failure and provide cross sections for these
areas if they have not already been provided.
53. The Applicant has stated the backfilled material will have a GC classification (poorly sorted
sand, gravel and clay). Please clarify how the replacement of the washed gravel and
recovered fines onto the mine slopes will result in poorly sorted stratum, rather than a well
sorted stratum.
This concludes the Division's preliminary adequacy review of this application. Please remember
that the decision date for this application is July 12, 2015. As previously mentioned, if you are
unable to provide satisfactory responses to any inadequacies prior to this date, it will be your
responsibility to request an extension of time to allow for continued review of this
application. If there are still unresolved issues when the decision date arrives and no extension
has been requested, the application will be denied.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303)866-3567 x8116.
Sincerely,
k -t - —
Michael A.
