Cazier
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mr. Cazier
RECEIVED
MAY N 2015
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
Re: Quist prospecting permit POI 2015-008 Adequacy Review
Please amend where appropriate:
Tuesday 5 May 2015
Yes. Application should have listed and referred to Suzie Blue claim as being in Section 3 and
Section 2 as indicated on the map as submitted. This was an oversight in the original
applications and correspondence for this claim.
Site 16 is as listed with longitude and latitude and is in Section 3 as mapped.
We do not currently plan any mechanized prospecting on the Suzie Blue, and thus Site 16 has
been removed from this application. We can determine from the present disturbance at this site
the general nature of deposit. In the future, it may be included in a mining permit for a larger
disturbance; however, it was felt the disturbance for access outweighed the benefits of putting a
machine on Site 16 at this point in time.
Hand prospecting will continue on all claims in an effort to locate promising pegmatites for
possibly future operations but until the current sites in this application are completed, no
additional ones are anticipated. If discovered, we will submit an amendment.
All disturbances will be monitored to insure less than an acre of total new disturbance. Based
on photographs submitted, you will note that most of these sites have previously been disturbed
and are currently in various stages of disturbance. Most of this is from previous hand digging
throughout the 140 year history of this area and current hobby collectors. Two sites had
mechanized work done approximately twenty years ago. One such site can be seen on USGS
maps with a mining symbol locating it. We reclaimed most of this site last season in
conjunction with mining permit M-2006-034. The second one is site 004 which is currently,
approximately a quarter acre and will be reclaimed when we complete prospecting at this site.
An acre disturbance is sufficient to cover the sites in this application.
