ti: Greg and Jill Yocom
14507 Shelbe Lane
Sterling, CO 80751
(970) 580-3722
infinity858C yanoo.corr
May 8, 2015
Mined Land Reclamation Board
Room 215
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mined Land Reclamation Board:
Civ O t
RECFwF-r)
MAY 12 2015 v, -
DIVISION
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
This letter is to advise rejection in regards to the application placed to the Board on behalf of Kym Schure to
convert the existing 110 9.9 acre Dollerschell Pit. It is proposed for a larger 112 Mining Permit situated in the
NW % of Section 21, T8N, R53W of the 6thPM Logan County Colorado for the extraction of construction
materials.
First, the southern border of the proposed expansion is very near our northern property line of Lot 9 2.36
acres Sand Creek Estates, Logan County, Sterling, CO. We have young children that play outside and we do
not believe this will be a safe environment for them to grow up near. Secondly, when we purchased our lot it
was proposed that the potential of future residences could be constructed to the north of our property, as
shown on the enclosure. We most certainly are not in agreement of this un -safe, visually unpleasant gravel
pit. Third, our property value will most certainly be negatively affected by this expansion. Valuation takes into
account the quality of the neighborhood surroundings and the view currently of the natural, country
landscape is absolutely more appealing than a gigantic mine with the obtrusive noise of heavy equipment.
Lastly, we have a child with severe allergies to dust and the particulates in the air, which the expansion mine
would cause, will most likely cause adverse reactions. This presents a severe health concern for our family.
In closing, we hope our comments prohibit this mining operation application from gaining approval.
Sincerely,
-may
Greg o0jocom
