Here are my replies to your questions:
1. Acknowledged.
2. Adams County still owns a 50' wide swath of old Nome Street that is now part of our connector ramp from US -
85 to E-470. They have approved our revised plans and we are in the process of submitting the contractor's
bonds, insurance and updated traffic control plans to them. They will then issue a grading and drainage permit.
3. The pavement at the scraper crossing will be closely monitored by the Authority and the Contractor. If damage
becomes evident, our contractor, Brannan Construction, will place a 6" thick layer of temporary asphalt
pavement on top of the existing concrete pavement as protection. They will make temporary repairs to any
pavement damage during the construction phase to ensure safe passage for road users. Once construction is
complete, they will complete any permanent repairs needed to return the pavement to its original condition.
4. In addition to the temporary asphalt pavement in 3 above, our contractor will remove the existing median to
facilitate scraper traffic across the road. They will also install fill dirt on either side of the road to make a smooth
transition to the adjacent grade for the scraper haul operation. They will install temporary pipe on the roadside
ditch to maintain drainage during the construction phase. When the project is complete, Nome St. will be restored
to its pre -construction condition including concrete pavement, raised median, roadside ditches and fencing. Any
disturbed areas will be re -seeded with native seed.
5. The contractor plans to use scrapers to haul and place the inert fill close to the edge of the pond. They will then
push the fill into the pond using a tracked dozer. If the fill operation causes the static water surface level to rise
significantly, they will cease operations to allow the water level to subside.
If you have any other questions or need more information, please call me at (303) 537-3712.
Sincerely
Neil Tho fP.
Director of Engineering & Roadway Maintenance
