The photographs were reviewed by Robin Reilley for
this report. Both Mr. Ranney and Ms. Reilley are employees of the Division of Reclamation Mining and
Safety. The photos were taken under mostly sunny conditions. At higher elevations the soil appears
saturated and muddy. The imagery captured the stockpiling of machinery for auction, a portion of the
numerous drill pad locations and a selection of hydrologic conditions on the mine site at the time.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE Rule 4.05:
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures
4.05.7; 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments
4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The following items may have already been addressed. However, since this recent inspection was an
aerial inspection on the ground verification did not occur. I list the following items here for tracking
purposes. Maintenance issues identified in previous inspection:
• Pond Al exhibited a cone of sediment debris at the outlet.
• There is some gullying from road drainage into ponds B and Al.
• Currently there is a mine pipe at Power Line Road conveying cables. This should be removed. Ditch D3 Lower is
somewhat compromised in a couple of areas from Powerline Road to the Washbay and Oil Storage area due to gravel that
was deposited. Some ditch maintenance is needed along here to maintain function.
These items seem to have been addressed as per aerials:
• Debris and equipment in Ditch D9 (clean water ditch) will require removal. The top of the ditch
surface requires leveling to ensure function and approved design is maintained.
Ponds B and D contained water, (Photo 1). The debris and equipment in Ditch D9 (clean water ditch)
noted in Photo 5 of the March 2015 inspection appears to have been removed (Photo 4). All observed
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3
Page 2 of 9
