' COLORADO
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Tena Gallagher and Linda Saunders- K2T LLC
34315 Forest Park Dr.
Elizabeth, CO 80107 -7842
RE: Southfield Mine, Permit No. C- 1981 -014
Technical Revision No. 43 and NOV CV- 2013 -002 Deadline Extensions
Dear Ms. Gallagher and Ms. Saunders:
This correspondence is provided to inform you of the current status of TR -43 and the pending
NOV CV- 2013 -002, as you have expressed interest in both matters. TR -43 has been formally
extended to August 28, 2015. Likewise, NOV CV- 2013 -002 has been formally extended to July
31, 2015. The Division has just recently received a commitment from EFCI to take the required
steps to properly abate the NOV related to MW -NW. The Division also issued a second adequacy
letter for TR -43 which was provided to you on April 23, 2015. As you will see there are
remaining questions related to TR -43 that must be addressed before an approval can be issued,
which will require additional time.
With the commitment to address and abate the NOV coupled with the remaining, and interrelated,
information needed for'1'R -43 the Division deemed it an appropriate course of action to extend
the deadlines to allow sufficient time to coordinate drill contractors, select a bid, develop a plan,
and meet with the Division. Please take the time to review the second TR -43 adequacy letter as it
contains detailed information. As discussed in the adequacy letter the Division believes that the
information gathered from MW -NW will be necessary to inform its decision related to TR-
43. Further extentions are clearly justified.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
111 1 daa P
Michael P.
