As you know the New horizon 2 Mine has nearly . <br />completed reclamation of our (Morgan) property except for Pond 011 and the BB Detour Road. <br />The reclamation plan for BB Detour Road is to remove the road base and place topsoil on the <br />area as directed by us (landowner): The low area of BB Detour Road southwest and west of <br />Pond 011 needs topsoil to match the grade of the area south of Pond 011 and what will be the <br />reclaimed surface of Pond 011. 'The reclaimed BB Detour Road will be tilled and irrigated like <br />the rest of the reclaimed area. <br />Since the irrigation and tilling of the 60 feet wide and 300 feet long area of.the reclaimed BB <br />Detour Road on the west side of Pond 011 is a logistics problem, we propose not reclaiming this <br />half acre area until Pond 011 is reclaimed (road base will be removed and wattles will provide <br />sediment control). Mike Morgan discussed this proposal with New Horizon 2 Mine staff:and <br />Brock Bowles of DRMS, and they understood the problem of trying to farm the half acre strip <br />equally with the rest of the reclaimed land. Since State Law requires reclaimed land be tilled <br />and irrigated equally, please approve our request to not put topsoil on the BB Detour Road <br />west of Pond 011 until Pond 011 is reclaimed. <br />In addition, we request our bench 1 soil from BB Detour Road be stockpiled by Pond 011 <br />because, the bench 1 soil will be used to reclaim Pond 011. Mike Morgan discussed this <br />request with the mine's staff (but not Brock Bowles) and the staff likes the idea because less <br />haulage is involved.
