Frank Ferris of Western Fuels- Colorado was present for the entire inspection. <br />The weather was sunny and ground conditions were dry. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />Two dozen ducks were noted in Pond 11 but the species were not noted. Sandhill cranes were heard <br />flying overhead. Four Canada geese were in Pond 7. A dozen deer were grazing in the reclamation by the mine <br />office. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Straw waddles were being installed on the Morgan property along the south side of BB Road. They were <br />installed in a 2 -3 inch deep trench and held in place with wooden stakes (photo 1). <br />Pond 11 contained water but was not discharging. Rodent holes were noted in the northeast corner of Pond 11 and <br />were repaired during the inspection (photo 2). Tamarisk and Russian Olive trees were noted around Pond 11. <br />Both of these species are on the Colorado noxious weed list and need to be treated. The Pond 11 emergency <br />spillway ditch between Pond 11 and the BB Road was free and clear of obstructions. The flow meter for the Pond <br />11 discharge was being installed. <br />Ditch C9 was free and clear of obstructions (photo 3). Pond 13 contained water and was discharging. The trench <br />drain was also discharging into the Pond 13 discharge flume. The embankment appeared to be stable. <br />The temporary electric fences were removed around Pond 8.
