EFCI conducted underground mining, coal processing, and related operations at the
Southfield Mine and Loadout following purchase of the operation from Dorchester in
March, 1985. Over this period of time, EFCI gained valuable experience relative to
the most practical and effective techniques for mining and reclamation operations at
these sites.
In order to maintain efficient and competitive operations, EFCI continually reviews
existing plans and evaluates mining and reclamation operations relative to the
latest information and mining technology available. As a result of recently
acquired exploration information and review of ongoing operations, EFCI has
identified several significant changes to be made in existing mining and reclamation
plans in order to provide for effective future mining operations, maintain operational
efficiency, minimize costs, and provide for successful reclamation of disturbance
areas.
2.05 -1a
Revised 5/14/14 RN -06
