Substitute Water Supply Plan (WDID 0202608)
Bromley Lakes Pit, DRMS No. M- 1987 -049 WDID 0203049
Sections 13, 14, 23, and 24, T1 S, R67W, 6th P.M.
Water Division 1, Water District 2, Weld County
Approval Period: January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015
Contact phone number for Ms. Keedy: (303) 806 -8952
Dear Ms. Keedy:
We have reviewed your letter dated October 10, 2014 requesting renewal of the of the
above referenced substitute water supply plan ( "SWSP ") to cover depletions caused by an
existing gravel mining operation operated by Ready Mixed Concrete Company ( "RMCC" or
Applicant "). The required fee of $257.00 for this substitute supply plan has been submitted
(receipt no. 3666929). The Bromley Lakes Pit was previously included in the Ready Mixed
Combined SWSP, which was most recently approved on October 21, 2013 and is valid through
December 31, 2014. The combined SWSP also included the North Tower Pit (DRMS No. M -1977-
436). The North Tower Pit is now included in the augmentation plan approved by the water
court on December 4, 2013 in case no. 90CW039. Therefore the depletions from the North
Tower Pit are no longer replaced under the combined SWSP and the 54 Fulton Ditch shares
previously dedicated to the combined plan are no longer available as a replacement supply
for this SWSP.
Plan Operation
This plan will replace depletions resulting from mining operations at the Bromley
Lakes site (WDID 0203049 well permit 76711 -F). The Bromley Lakes Pit, DRMS permit no. M-
1987 -049, was amended on November 16, 2009 to incorporate the Ready Mixed Pit No. 1,
DRMS permit no. M- 1985 -017, into the Bromley Lakes permitted area. Therefore, for the
purpose of this SWSP, the Ready Mixed Pit No. 1 is considered part of the Bromley Lakes site.
The Bromley Lakes site covers approximately 300 acres located between the South Platte
River and the City of Brighton, consisting of:
• Erger's Pond (lined), owned by the City of Brighton
• Kenneth Mitchell Lake 1 (lined), owned by the City of Brighton,
• Bromley Lakes Cell 2 (mined and being backfiRed),
Bromley Lakes Cell 3 and Bromley Lakes Lot 1 (f.k.a. Ready Mixed Pit) (lined),
owned by the City of Brighton,
Office of the State Engineer
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303 - 866 -3581 • Fax: 303 - 866 -3589
www.water.state.co.us
