PERMIT #: M- 2005 -059
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: April 21, 2015
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine site monitoring inspection conducted by DRMS at the Nelson Mining Resource site. `The
inspection was conducted by Eric Scott of CDRMS. The DRMS representative met with Rob Laird of Asphalt
Specialties at the site at approximately 0900. The site entrance is located off the north side of County Road 26
immediately west of the intersection of County Roads 26 and 15. The site is fenced and the identification sign
was present at the site entrance.
Only about 50% of this site has been disturbed to date, the rest remains undisturbed agricultural land. This
site has also been recently taken out of temporary cessation, however full scale mining activity has not yet
resumed. A recent surety increase has brought the site into compliance with regard to appropriate bonding
for exposed groundwater. The site appears to have been in compliance with the mining plan while it was
operational. The observed fuel tanks associated with the plant area were reported to be empty at this time.
Weed control activities need to be maintained at the site to control cheatgrass, bindweed and tamarisk.
Inspection Contact Address
Rob Laird
Asphalt Specialties Co., Inc.
10100 Dallas St.
Henderson, CO 80640
