Trapper Mine; TR114 File
Page 2
April 17, 2015
(e) Trapper seeded 4.7 acres of land in 2014. The location and the number of acres seeded during
2014 is discussed in section 1.2.4 and depicted on Map I of Appendix W. Trapper included a
packing slip from Stevenson Intermountain Seed, Inc. in Section 7 of Appendix W for the seeds
used for reclamation. Section 1.2.5 of Appendix W discusses the cultural practices conducted in
2014.
(f) Map I of Appendix W depicts all of the parcels that have been planted previously at the site. Each
parcel identifies the acres and the year they were seeded.
2.04.13 (2):
The report identified that improvements and repairs were conducted on reconstructed drainages in
2014. No new drainages were constructed in 2014. Table 5 -1 provided location of each of the
topsoil stockpiles and the amount of topsoil stored in each pile. These topsoil stockpiles are
depicted on Map M1 in Appendix W. Stock tanks and dozer basins were updated through 2014.
In accordance with section 3.6.3.5 of Trapper's permit, they are required to provide the Division
with the proposed species list to be used each year. It appears the number of species for each life
form and the amount of seeds to be used is in accordance with Trapper's approved seed mixtures.
The proposed 2015 topsoil strip area depicted on TR114 Map 1 is inconsistent with
the approved area for topsoil stripping presented in Map lOB of the permit. Map lOB
is currently being updated with PR7 and areas shown to be stripped of topsoil in 2017
have been removed from the mine plan. The area depicted in the TR114 Map 1 for
proposed topsoil stripping falls outside the topsoil stripping area presented in PR7.
Either submit and receive approval to update the topsoil stripping plan in Map lOB,
change Map 1 in TR 114, or remove proposed topsoil stripping parcels from the
TR114 map.
During 2014, Trapper received approval of SL 16, a Phase II bond release for 277.8 acres.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me at (303) 866 -3567, extension 8147.
Sincerely,
Tabetha Lynch
Environmental Protection Specialist
Enclosure: 1.)
