The reclamation colts reflect these additional costs
for this work.
Item 11 — Avalanche Berm
The avalanche berm is a 35 feet high berm constructed immediately west of the Office/Dry
Building to ensure that avalanches do not damage this structure and other nearby structures. The
berm is constructed out of blasted waste rock with high angularity that can withstand a steeper
{
angle. This steeper angle of 1.42H:1 V, is important for the deflection of the avalanches and will
be stable from the standpoint of slope stability. Revised Maps IC -2, C -3 and C -4 show the berm
and its contours.
This plan has been withdrawn from the Technical Revision.
and Atlas /Cumberland will be allowed to come out the portal
the mill process, which is a closed water system. Water
may stay in the Virginius workings.
water from Yellow Rose Drift
a portion may be used in
in the Virginius workings
