Schlosser Inc. <br />Regular 112 Permit Application <br />Schlosser Pit I <br />EXHIBIT D - MINING PLAN <br />The 50 acre affected area of the permit area will be operated in two phases. The first phase <br />will consist of 20 acres and this will include the area of previous disturbance (approximately 6 <br />acres). This area will include lands from the west side of the existing excavation to the eastern <br />permit boundary (see Mine Plan Map on page C -5). There will be approximately 10 acres mined <br />during the phase one operations. The remaining 10 acres will be used for plant set -up, product <br />stockpiling, topsoil and overburden stockpiles and for haul /access roads within the permit area. <br />The second phase of the operation will consist of the remaining 30 acres of the affected <br />area. Approximately 20 acres of this area will be mined and the remaining lands will be used <br />for plant set -up, product stockpiling, topsoil and overburden stockpiles and for haul /access <br />roads within the permit area. The phase one and phase two areas are shown on the Mine Plan <br />Map on page C -5. ' <br />i <br />i <br />Method of Minin <br />The mining method will be open -pit surface mining. The'materials will be excavated from <br />the ground utilizing a dozer which will feed into a dozer trap. The processing plant will consist <br />of a screening plant, transfer conveyors, stacking conveyor and a portable generator system. <br />The rolling stock will consist of a dozer and a front end loader. <br />The primary product produced will be road base which will be stockpiled on site. <br />Earthmoving <br />The topsoil and overburden material will be salvaged and stockpiled utilizing a scraper. The <br />sand and gravel material will be excavated by using a dozer and /or a front end loader. <br />D -1 <br />
