Width of constructed haul road (30+ feet) differs from approved design (40 -50 feet) <br />Tri -State responded that the table on Map 2.05.3(3) -3 represents the proposed <br />maximum design, but the maximum design width was not necessary. <br />If Tri -State has determined that a minimum width of 40 feet will not be required for all <br />haul roads, please revise the table on Map 2.05.3(3) to reflect the actual minimum <br />width necessary to accommodate traffic at the site. <br />3. Side slopes shown on Map 2.05.3(3) -4 are outside the design range approved on Map <br />2.05.3(3) -3, and are not labeled on the north side of the haul road. <br />Tri -State responded that the ditch on the south side of the haul road was regraded so <br />slopes fall within the approved range; sections on Map 2.05.3(3) -4 were revised <br />accordingly. This portion of the item is resolved. <br />Tri -State further states that the north ditch does not convey runoff from the road, but is <br />used for internal drainage control at the mine. On Map 2.05.3(4) -1 - Surface Water <br />Hydrology (as revised under TR -6 in Nov - 2014), the ditch is termed the "Haul Road <br />North Ditch ". (Is there an approved design for this ditch ?) Please label the feature on <br />the current map, consistent with what is used elsewhere in the permit. <br />4. Certification statement <br />An Engineer's Certification Statement has been submitted as part of new Appendix <br />2.05.3(3) -3. This item has been resolved. <br />5. Intersection with County Road details <br />Map 2.05.3(3) -4 was updated to show the tie -in with Montrose County Road 26.50. This <br />item has been resolved. <br />6. An updated Table of Contents for Section 2.05.3(3) needs to be submitted, which lists <br />the new map. Also, the text should be updated to direct the reader to the As -Built <br />certification. <br />The TOC was updated, as requested. The text on page 4 of Section 2.05.3(3) was revised <br />to direct the reader to Appendix 2.05.3(3) -3. Please also include a reference here to <br />Map 2.05.3(3) -4. <br />7. (New) The Division has a new series of comments regarding Map 2.05.3(3) -4, to which a <br />number of additional changes have been made. Please update the map to address the <br />following comments: <br />a. The base map in the plan view has been updated with what appears to be <br />current topographic data (as opposed to pre- mining topography). This change is <br />
