• 2014 Topsoil Replacement Thickness
No topsoil was replaced in 2014.
• Soil Pit — Topsoil Fertility /Spoil Suitability
No topsoil fertility or spoil suitability samples were collected in 2014.
• Topsoil Balance
SCC submitted a topsoil balance with Permit Revision 04 (dated 9/04). The topsoil balance has not been
revised because Seneca II -W is reclaimed except for permanent roads and facilities areas.
Topsoil Salvage and Storage. No topsoil was salvaged during 2014. The life -of -mine disturbance from
which topsoil was salvaged (1,291.5 acres) and the topsoil stockpile sites as of December 31, 2014 are shown
the 2012 Topsoil Replacement map and 2015 Planned Reclamation map
The remaining stockpile volumes as of December 31, 2014 are listed below in Table 13.1, Topsoil Stockpile
Volumes. As of the end of 2014, 20.5 acre -feet of topsoil remain stockpiled in the mining area.
Topsoil Replacement. No topsoil was replaced during 2014. Therefore, the total remaining mine
disturbance area requiring topsoil (as of December 31, 2014) is 10.0 acres. This acreage balance is found
accounted for in ponds which have not yet been approved as permanent.
Topsoil Replacement Thickness. The overall topsoil replacement thickness for the II -W disturbed area
was originally projected to be 1.3 feet for the mine area. The topsoil balance for the remaining disturbed
area was calculated as follows:
Mine Area Summary
Total Disturbance Area
Permanent Facilities & Topsoil Replaced
Disturbed area requiring topsoil
Topsoil in stockpiles (Table 13.1)
Mean Replacement Depth
= 1,291.5 acres
= 1,257.2 acres
= 10.0 acres
= 7.0 ac -ft
= 0.7 feet (8.4 inches)
2
