YGAL16 1296 1450*
YSAL1 798 1425*
YSAL3 798 1000*
* indicates value above prediction
At Annand Draw alluvial well YAAL14, the average TDS value observed this
year was 3050 mg /l. This value exceeds the predicted value of 2036 mg /1.
The GWPOC well for the Grassy Creek Alluvium (downstream of Annand
Draw), SGAL70, did not exceed the TDS GWPOC standard, 5038 mg /l.
At Grassy Creek alluvial well YGAL16, the average TDS value observed
this year was 1450 mg /1. This value exceeds the predicted value of 1296
mg /1. The GWPOC well for the Grassy Creek Alluvium, SGAL70, did not
exceed the TDS GWPOC standard, 5038 mg /1.
At Sage Creek alluvial well YSAL1, the average TDS value observed this
year was 1425 mg /l. The TDS value observed this year upstream at Well
YSAL3 (directly below Pond 012) was 1000 mg /1. These two values exceed
the predicted value of 798 mg /1. The GWPOC well for the Sage Creek
Alluvium, YSAL3, did not exceed the TDS GWPOC standard, 2675 mg /l.
This year's TDS value at Wadge coal well YW30 was 7475 mg /1. The PHC
predicted value for this well is 2570 mg /1. Since 2009, TDS values have
been fluctuating up and down, making it difficult to determine an
accurate trend.
Surface Water
A summary of surface water sites is provided in Table 9. Stream
monitoring occurs on Sage Creek at Sites YSSF3 and YSS2, and on Grassy
Creek at Sites YSGFS and YSGS . These surface water sites are monitored
biannually for flow and field parameters (pH, temperature, and
electrical conductivity [EC]). All five NPDES sites are monitored
monthly for NPDES parameters and field parameters. Samples obtained at
the stream sites are analyzed for one of the new surface water parameter
lists during spring runoff and summer baseflow. Spring sites are
VA
